Below are descriptions of what is on offer in Thollon Les Memises.

General Store - "Sherpa" Stores - weblink > Sherpa Stores

Sherpa is a general food store, in a new building situated in the main car park (opposite the apartment). They stock a range of fresh meat, fruit and vegetables, freshly baked breads, gifts and household essentials.  It is open 7 days a week.

General Store - "Casino" Stores - weblink > Casino Stores

Located in the mid part of Thollon (about 5 minute walk from apartment, 2 minutes by car).  Another general store which has a better variety of fresh meat, fruit and vegetables, canned goods and frozen foods.  Prices are a little cheaper than the Sherpa.  Also has an extensive wine/beer and locally produced foods.  The shop is not open as often as the Sherpa.

Boulangerie (Bakery)

The Boulangerie is located next to the Casino general store and bakes a variety of bread, pastries and cakes.  This is an essential part of your holiday and French living, fresh bread, buttery croisants and a fine selection of pastries/cakes.

Tabac (Newsagent/Tobacconist)

The Tabac has recently been refurbished and re-opened, stocking a range of cigaerettes, gifts and newspapers.

Fromagerie (Cheese Shop)

The fromagerie is located opposite the Casino, Tabac and Boulangerie on the other side of the road.  The store stocks a wide variety of local, French and Swiss cheeses.  Cheeses are reasonably priced and the shop also sells a small selection of locally produced wines, preserves and hams.

Launderette

The launderette is located opposite the ski station, about 1 minute walk from the apartment. There are a number of washers and dryers.  A wash and dry cycle takes around 1 hours.  Cost is approximately €7,50 for wash and dry - or if visiting in the Summer, air them on the balcony at the apartment for a truly Alpine fresh sensation.

The general stores in the village are very convenient but they have limited ranges and cost a little more.  There are a number of larger hypermarkets within 30 minutes drive of the village and offer lower prices and larger selections for those on longer stays.

Super U (Vinzier) - weblink > Super U

This store is the closest to the apartment, approx. 15 minute drive past St Paul En Chablais.  A medium sized supermarket that has all that you would need.

The supermarket is next door to a Bricolage (DIY store) and also has a petrol/diesel station (all automatic, no attendants) offering fuel at reasonable prices.  The store closes lunchtime on Sundays.

There is another Super U in AMphion, which is just outside of Evian/Publier, but is a much smaller store offering.

Cora (Amphion) - weblink > Hypermarchés Cora                                                                                                                       

The nearest larger Supermarket with a wide selection of foods and clothing at very reasonable prices.  Not quite as cheap as Carrefour which is a much larger store, but the Cora is much closer and has an excellent fresh food and wine selection. 

The Cora also offers a petrol/diesel station which has both automatic and attendant pumps, can get quite busy due to competitive pricing, but worth the wait.

There is also a (DIY) store, a sports clothing and goods store (Decathlon) and a Toy Store nearby.  The stores close lunchtime on Sundays.

Carrefour (Margencel) - weblink > Carrefour

Situated on a large retail park that offers many retail therapy experiences from furniture and DIY (Bricolage) through to McDonalds and fuel.  This is the largest supermarket in the area, around 35 minutes drive from the village if you take the new Thonon By-Pass.  There is another (smaller) Carrefour on the journey from Geneva to Thollon and is just past the Swiss/French border controls.
