About the apartment - Arriving and
Departing
The entrance to the apartment is via the main door at the front of
the building. Take the stairs up one flight to reach the rear of the
building - at ground level. The apartment door is halfway along the open
corridor You can also take the lift if you have heavy luggage but the lift
is not alarmed or supervised in any way so for those fearful of lifts, best take
the stairs!.
If the corridors are not lit, there will
be a light switch nearby. The corridor at the main
entrance to the building also contains an area to store
skis or sledges, a padlock is provided in the apartment
to help you secure the items in this area - there are no
'reserved' slots.
Electric
- When you arrive the electricity will be switched off
and the shutters will be down. Upon entering the
apartment, the electricity switches are located behind a
metal box on the wall (to your left). Push the
fuse switches back into place to switch the power on.
Water
- You will also need to turn on the water supply.
This is found in the room where the toilet is located.
Remove the panel from the wall and you will see a water
tap - turn this until you hear water running (into the
hot water tank). For hot water, there is a switch
in the electrical box with three positions (off,
intermediate and max) - slide down into the max position.
This is simply turning on the immersion and may take a
few hours to get to temperature. You may want to
turn it off again overnight on the day before departure
as else you are heating water you will not use which is
a waste of energy.
Leaving
- Please drain the water from the taps in the
kitchen/bathroom by turning the main water supply off
using the tap behind the panel once more, then turn
on/off the taps to both sinks - this sstops any water in
the pipes from freezing when the apartment is empty. Please leave the fridge door open and
remember to take all your belongings. Before
leaving, flick out the fuses from the fuse box - except
those marked with a red dot - do not switch the
electricity off at the main switch as power is still
needed to maintain the frost thermostats during the
winter. Please snure the wall mounted heaters are
on 'minimum' level (one dot on dial).
